Richard B. Cheney, an accomplished businessman and public servant is the vice-president. Cheney has become a regular face on the Washington political scene, has served under several U.S. presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush. He will serve as the fourth vice president, and is the elected president. Bush picked Cheney to be his vice president in July 2000. He cited his experience and knowledge. Dick Cheney was a chief of staff for presidents. He worked for the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense and served the nation in various roles. Republicans and Democrats alike respect Cheney for his sincerity. Cheney declared that his position in the Bush administration is to be a transparent but disinterested advisor. In accepting the Republican vice-presidential nomination Cheney declared that he's looking forward to working with a president who will work to get things done by working across the political aisle as well as working with opposition politicians with good will and a common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney is the father of Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born January 30, 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska. In 1941, when Richard Bruce Cheney was 13 years old the family of Richard Bruce Cheney relocated from Lincoln Nebraska to Casper Wyoming where his father headed his position as the head of U.S. Department of Agriculture's local conservation districts.
