Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, Puy-deDomme France in August 9th 1976. Audrey Tautou is the fourth child of 4 children. Her parents, a dentist and a teacher recognised and encouraged her passion for theatre and drama from a young age which superseded an initial desire to become a primatologist thanks to her fascination with monkeys. Her rise to fame as an actress in her early years was quick and marked by early success. In 1998, after completing her education, she was selected to participate in Jeunes Premiers an French show on TV that is a talent-scouting initiative, which is which was run by Canal+. There she was awarded the prize for the Best Young Actress in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. This led her to pursue a professional career as an actor. While she attended The Institut Catholique de Paris and attended church in her youth Tautou has stayed away from this upbringing, stating that she is not officially Catholic. She pursued a modelling career alongside her acting career and is the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel is often called the Chanel Muse. Her photography is also a passion and she recently exhibited her work at the Arles festival under the name Superficial. Her photographs is mainly focused on celebrities and fame. The camera's focus is on journalists who examined her as she rose to stardom in Amelie. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom as well as international recognition with her debut role as the lead in the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie is a box office hit internationally and recognized at many awards festivals around the globe. It is the top-grossing French film in America. Later, in the same year, she appeared in British dramas, including Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. After that, Tautou went to Hollywood in the United States, where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
